An SD card slot is found on the latest generation of digital NEXEDGE radios to enable incoming calls to be recorded and played back again on the radio. This is convenient as the user can replay a message locally if there was a missed call. This cuts down on requests for repeated transmissions, keeping more system resources and dispatchers available for that-all important emergency call.
